The international Military Sports meeting has taken place in these days at the Guardia di Finanza Sport Centre in Castelporzio.

Leaded by the President General Gianni Gola, the participants have approached many subjects concerning the planning of the next activities, that will involve the 24 sports practiced by the Armed Forces of the 131 CISM member nations. The CISM is a military organization, that has concurred, through sport, to keep peace and friendship among the Armed Forces of all its members, for more than sixty years.

They have examined the technical aspects of the first Winter Military World Games, that will take place from 20th t0 25th March 2010 in Aosta Valley. With this extraordinary event, the CISM is established itself, after the International Olympic Committee, as the only multi-sports Authority able to organize both Summer and Winter World Games. About the Summer Games, the fifth edition is planned in Rio de Janeiro in 2011. Even in this case, the CISM has been far-sighted and in advance of the times, for having assigned its Games to the South-American city, several years before IOC awarded to Rio the Olympics of 2016.
