FICr times the Winter Military World Games
The Italian Federation of Timekeeper will be the protagonist of this first edition of the Winter World Military Championship organized by CISM - Conseil International du Sport Militaire - which will take place in Aosta from the 20th to 25th of March.
FICr will provide the timing service for the disciplines of alpine skiing, slalom (male and female giant slalom and slalom,), cross country skiing (15 km male free technique and 10 km female), ski orienteering with 20 time keepers of Aosta, Turin and Venice Associations.
The most advanced time keeping equipment are used: start gate (a mechanical translator used as a switch as soon as the athlete starts). According to the FIS rules it has a double contact and ensures the detection of false start. The intermediates and the ending times as well are detected by photoelectric cells linked to a detailed timekeeper. The results are visualized on technologic noticed-boards and published on the website www.ficr.it.
FICr is used to the timekeeping of important winter sport manifestations. Since 1956 during the Cortina Olympics the Italian Federation of Timekeeper has managed the timing in every discipline. In “Museo del Tempo” timekeeping equipment can be seen as well as the start gate and the photoelectric cells.
In 2009 FICr offered timekeeping service in more than 2.500 winter sport events reaching a total of 15.000 timekeeping days.
