Norway and Estonia win the Biathlon Patrol

Awarding of the last prizes at the Winter Military World Games

The last nomination of the Winter Military World Games goes to Estonia thanks to the great performance of Priit Narusk, Indrek Tobreluts, Kauri Koiv and Roland Lessing in the Biathlon patrol.

The four Estonian athletes completed the 50 km track in a time of 1h 04’09’’9, without making mistakes at the polygon. The silver medal went to the Swiss team with a late of 17’’74 and one mistake at the polygon. Toni Livers was one of the team and he also got the silver medal in the Sprint Biathlon and in the 15 km country-cross skiing. Ivan Joller, Christian Stebler and Remo Fischer were the other members of the Swiss team. France arrived third with four country-cross skiing athletes: Vincent Vittoz, who won also yesterday in Cogne, Robin Duvillard, Emmanuel Jonnier and Alexander Rousselet. They finished the competition 1’13’’13 later than the winners and with two mistakes. The Norwegian team reached only the fourth place (gold medal in the Sprint, Hans Martin Gjedrem, Jon Kristian Svaland, Henrik Lung and Ronny Hafsas at 1’31’’10, 2.) while Italy the fifth one with bronze medal in the Sprint Christian Martinelli, Markus Windisch, Mattia Cola and Dominik Windisch, who arrived 1’38’’44 later than the winners and made one mistake at the polygon.

The Norwegian female patron won the Biathlon golden medal which consists in a track of 15 km. This discipline is typical of the Army Forces.

Yesterday, the four Scandinavian athletes, Kari Henneseid Eie, Anne Ingstadbjoerg, Jori Moerkve and Tiril Eckhoff, won the cross- country skiing silver medal in Cogne. They completed the 15 km track in a time of 42.43.69, with a stop at the polygon and no mistakes.

The Chinese athletes, Yuanyuan Liu, Xanying Liu, Chunli Wang and Chaoqing Song, arrived for second with a gap of 8.63. The Polish athletes got the bronze medal, reaching the finishing line 17”75 later and without making mistakes.
The Russian team, composed by Olga Anisimova, Tatiana Zevakhina, Liobov Petrova and Mariya Sadilova with a time of 1’45’46; 1)  got the third place, while the Italiana one, with Michela Andreola, Roberta Fiandno, Christa Perathoner and Barbara Ert, arrived in late of 1’56’’46 (0).

The “patron” has to be composed of a chief patron, who doesn’t compete with a carbine and three armed patrolmen. The four athletes always have to stay and reach the polygon together. Only the three patrolmen can focus on the 50 metres far target. When the first athlete hit the target, he or she can leave the place to the second and the third one.

Gran Prix CISM, successful first cross-country’s test

The winners are Cristina Artuso (Army) and Stefano Scaini (Fiamme Gialle)

The Cross-country Grand Prix CISM took place within the first Winter Military World Games; cross-country was a discipline presented as a demonstrative sport. The race, which covered a distance of 4600 mt for women and of 6900 mt for men, was opened to the FIDAS enrolled.
